College Football Week 6: Overs, Unders, Upsets and More

Scott Morris | October 12, 2015

Week 6 of the college football regular season is in the books and there were plenty of ups and downs for bettors with surprises and upsets.

Overall, the favorites ended the weekend 48-8 straight up and 32-23-1 against the spread. Home teams were 35-21 SU and 25-30-1 ATS. The over/under for the week was 30-25-1.

The weekend’s largest underdog that won straight up was Washington 17-12 over USC as a 17-point road dog. Washington State also won 45-38 in two overtimes over Oregon as a 15.5-point road dog.

The two biggest favorites that covered were Baylor -46 on the road at Kansas  66-7 and Ole Miss -46 at home 52-3 against New Mexico State.

The biggest overall upset in the top 25 was Texas beating Oklahoma as the Longhorns were 15-point underdogs at home in the Cotton Bowl. It was Texas’ third straight UNDER.

Ohio State beat Maryland to move to 6-0 SU but has not covered the number in five consecutive games. The OVER was the first for the Buckeyes in five games.

Georgia blew a 21-point lead to Tennessee and lost 38-31 and lost Nick Chubb to a knee injury for what looks to be the rest of the season.

Florida is rolled along ending a two-game losing streak to SEC rivals Missouri 21-3 on the road. Florida is 6-0 SU and 5-1 ATS as it heads to next weekend’s LSU showdown.

The UNDER has cashed in three of the last four games for the Gators.

Alabama won but it was not easy against Arkansas. The Crimson Tide trailed at the half 7-3 at home. However, they won 27-14 to show their power.

Alabama in the SEC is 2-1 and 5-1 SU but just 1-4 ATS.

Boise State moved up to the Top 25 during the last week and beat Colorado State 41-10. Since they lost to BYU 35-24 the Broncos are 4-0 SU and ATS.

Michigan incredible shutout run continues. The Wolverines shutout Northwestern 38-0 and have posted three consecutive shutouts heading to their big game at home versus Michigan State.

Notre Dame came back from their first lost to beat Navy 41-24 and face a Steve Sarkisian-less USC next Saturday.
